Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Co-Owner
Dr. Megan Kavanagh is a licensed clinical psychologist and co-owner of Next Step Counseling & Neuropsychology, as well as the founder of North Shore Children’s Neuropsychology. She specializes in supporting young children through developmentally informed therapeutic services, including play therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and executive functioning support.
Dr. Kavanagh's clinical work and leadership are grounded in a deep understanding of child development, learning, and emotional well-being. She is passionate about building accessible, strengths-based services that help children and families thrive.
Executive Director, Co-Owner
Dr. Gwyne White is a licensed clinical psychologist with specialized expertise in neuropsychological evaluation and the diagnosis of psychological and neurodevelopmental disorders. Her work focuses on identifying and understanding complex cognitive and emotional challenges, including aging-related cognitive impairment, ADHD, executive dysfunction, and co-occurring mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, and personality disorders.
With a deep understanding of how mental health and cognitive functioning interact, Dr. White is dedicated to helping children, adolescents, and adults overcome barriers to learning, development, and everyday functioning. Her evaluations emphasize differential diagnosis for complex cases and are paired with practical, comprehensive recommendations to support meaningful next steps in treatment and personal growth.
Dr. White earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Rutgers University. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Institute of Living/Hartford Hospital and her post-doctoral training at the Brenner Center of William James College. She is licensed by the Massachusetts Board of Psychology.
Creative Director
Katie Dewey-Rosenfeld is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Registered Art Therapist who brings over 15 years of experience in clinical care, program development, and creative leadership. As Creative Director, Katie leads the development of professional training for counselors, provides clinical supervision, and oversees marketing and communications for the practice. Her work bridges clinical expertise with creative strategy to support both client care and professional growth within the field.
Katie specializes in clinical supervision, art therapy, and training development, drawing from her extensive background in community mental health, education, and outreach services. She has held leadership roles across outpatient and school-based settings and served as Program Director for a community mental health clinic, where she launched an innovative outreach model that expanded access to care for underserved populations. Katie is also an experienced educator, having taught and advised undergraduate psychology students, and is a former Co-President of the New England Art Therapy Association.
Katie holds a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Art Therapy from Lesley University. She is a certified A-CRA supervisor and clinician, and has designed training programs in evidence-based treatment models in collaboration with state agencies.
Mitchell Sibley, Psy.D.
Licensed Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Mitchell Sibley is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in the evaluation and diagnosis of neurodevelopmental and neurocognitive disorders. Trained in neuropsychological assessment across the lifespan, he has expertise in autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, learning disabilities, and the cognitive effects of psychiatric and neurological conditions.
With experience in both pediatric and adult settings, Dr. Sibley provides comprehensive academic, cognitive, and personality testing, with a focus on complex differential diagnosis. He also offers specialized counseling for adults, including treatment for complex grief, posttraumatic stress disorder, and cognitive skills training.
Dr. Sibley earned his Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from William James College and holds both a master’s and bachelor’s degree from Brown University.
Mental Health Counselor
Melissa Driver is a mental health counselor with experience supporting children and adolescents in both private and public school settings. She specializes in working with ADHD, anxiety, trauma, developmental disorders, and emotional dysregulation, helping students and families navigate challenges with care and practical strategies.
Her clinical training includes internships in therapeutic day schools, where she gained extensive experience with neurodivergent students, neurodevelopmental disorders, and trauma-informed care. She also has experience supporting students on the autism spectrum through Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
Melissa integrates a variety of therapeutic approaches to meet the needs of each client, including bibliotherapy, play therapy, art therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). She earned both her bachelor’s degree in Psychology (with a minor in Sociology) and her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Merrimack College.
Mental Health Counselor
Dr. Bridget Bertoldi is a licensed clinical psychologist with expertise in the evaluation and treatment of adolescents and young adults with complex clinical presentations. She specializes in working with individuals facing depression, anxiety, trauma, emotional dysregulation, substance use, and personality disorders.
Dr. Bertoldi takes a strength-based and flexible approach to care, drawing on evidence-based practices to help clients build resilience, navigate challenges, and foster meaningful growth. She is passionate about making mental health care accessible and tailoring treatment to meet each individual’s needs.
Dr. Bertoldi earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Florida State University. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at Allenwood Federal Correctional Complex and her post-doctoral training at Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital. She is licensed by the Massachusetts Board of Psychology.
Psychometrician
Zoey is a psychometrician with a strong interest in the connection between brain and behavior and the process of psychological diagnosis. She administers and scores neuropsychological and behavioral assessments, working with children and young adults across a variety of settings. Zoey takes an empathetic approach to testing, focusing on creating a calm and supportive environment for every client.
Zoey earned her bachelor’s degree in Neuropsychology from the University of New Hampshire, where she completed extensive coursework and research in the field. She is pursuing her goal of becoming a licensed clinical neuropsychologist and plans to earn a doctorate in Clinical Psychology. Her particular areas of interest include the assessment and diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder and other neurodevelopmental conditions, especially in high-masking adults.
Psychometrician
Caroline is a recent graduate of Merrimack College with a strong academic foundation in psychology and a growing interest in the relationship between brain functioning and behavior. She is currently gaining hands-on experience in neuropsychological testing as she works toward her goal of becoming a licensed neuropsychologist.
Caroline is particularly passionate about the role of cognitive assessment in early identification and intervention, and how this process can empower individuals to better understand their unique strengths and challenges. She is excited to continue developing her skills and contributing to the field of neuropsychology through compassionate, data-informed care and a commitment to lifelong learning.
Clinical Care Coordinator
Theresa Kemp is a behavioral health professional with over 20 years of experience supporting individuals across the lifespan through compassionate, evidence-informed care. In her role as Clinical Care Coordinator, she helps guide clients through the evaluation and treatment process with empathy, organization, and a deep understanding of the mental health system.
Her background includes psychological report writing, program coordination, clinical support, and direct behavioral therapy. She has worked with children, adolescents, adults, and seniors facing a range of challenges, including autism spectrum disorders, trauma, and complex mental health diagnoses. Theresa is especially skilled in client advocacy, care coordination, and cross-functional collaboration—ensuring seamless communication and support across providers and systems.
She holds a Master of Education in Human Development Studies from Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of St. Thomas.
